Baggett repeats in COMP Cams Super Dirt Series action

By Ben Shelton (Greenville, MS) -- The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) invaded Greenville Speedway on Saturday night, where Columbus, Mississippi’s Neil Baggett stormed to his second-series win of the weekend.

Neil Baggett won Black Diamond Race Cars #1 to earn the New Vision Graphics Pole Position for the 40-lap feature at the ¼-mile, gumbo oval with Rick Rickman starting alongside.

Columbus, Mississippi’s Rick Rickman grabbed the lead as the race went green, and paced the first 32 laps before Neil Baggett took control of the top spot with just eight laps remaining.

Baggett would go on to take the $2,500 win, which marked his second CCSDS triumph of the weekend. Rick Rickman, Brian Rickman, Jack Sullivan and Chandler Petty completed the Top-5 finishers.

Current Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year leader, Tanner Kellick received the Larry Shaw Race Cars Hard Charger Award for advancing seven positions to finish 11th. The Henryetta Ford Hard Luck Award went to Clay Fisher, who saw his night come to an early end after hard contact with the turn one wall during heat race action.

The tour will now take a one-week break before returning to action on July 20-21 with a swing through Texas and Louisiana. On Friday, July 20 the series rolls into Timberline Speedway (Corley, Texas) for a $2,000-to-win event before moving onto Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, Louisiana) on Saturday, July 21 for a $2,500-to-win event.
